Fine wines and dining, anyone?

When it comes to our downtown, the only thing that may rival the quality of fine dining available would be the fine wines that accompany each dish.

The variety of choices, the locations in which to enjoy our favorites and this month — thanks to Euphoria — make downtown the place to be. Euphoria is the Southeast's premier pairing of food, wine and music, and it will be held in Greenville Sept. 23 – 26.

You won't want to miss this event, now in its fifth year, but if you don't happen to be in town then, don't worry. Check out The Buzz for a few tips on where to find our city's finest selections or just work your way down any downtown street for an enviable selection of places waiting to serve your favorite wines.

If children are a part of your plans in September, you must make a point of visiting The Children's Museum of the Upstate. The interactive format is fun for the young and the young at heart but don't feel pushed to try everything in one trip. Your ticket is good for the whole day, and a little lunch or nap break is recommended.

We are also proud to welcome the nationally known Race for the Cure to our downtown streets for the first time this year. While the event has enjoyed a long history of success at other locations, this will be the first time downtown will be bathed in pink. Many fountains will be dyed pink and the Liberty Bridge will be lit up with pink lights. Downtown merchants are encouraged to participate as well.

Truffle fries with asiago cheese, arts festivals, lunch specials every Friday — it seems like every month we run out of pages before we run out of great things happening around here, so be sure to look at our calendar for more events and activities you won't want to miss.

And don't miss next month's edition of Destination Downtown. After all, things are getting more exciting around here every day and you don't want to miss a one.
